Project Overview
Now computer knowledge and skills has become an essential part of our life. In today’s world, having IT and computer skills are being considered as life skills. The world is being transformed into a digital world, which evolves constantly. Most people nowadays have access to emails and internet through their work or personal phone. Being connected is essential for professionals but also for people living in the countryside.
The NaraTika CLC provides a computer lab and training facilities to teach computer skills to the youth and children. The lab is equipped with advanced computers and well trained facilitators. Up to 20 people will have access to participate in computer training at one time. Based on the need of the community there is possibility to conduct 2 shifts per day.
Volunteer role description:
Help the Computer Instructor to facilitate computer classes to the public, especially women and children.
Requirements:
- Ideally volunteers have a background in IT and computers
- Create simple activities to help children and young people practice their computer skills
- Good interpersonal skills for children and young people
- Good communication skills
- Patience and a friendly manner
Time commitment & fees
Local volunteers: 250 hours
International volunteers: 2 weeks full time minimum
2 weeks minimum stay- € 425
3 weeks- €525
4 weeks- € 625
(for that, each additional week we charge €80)
What VIN offers you in return
Local volunteers will receive a full induction.
International volunteers who pay a fee have the following included:
- Full induction
- Food and Accommodation: Nepali Standard at a local host family – 3 meals a day
- Transportation:
Airport pick up; transport to and from the placement to VIN - VIN T-shirt
- Certificate of participation
- 24 hours emergency support
- VIN admin cost.
What is excluded?
Airfare, VISA, vaccinations, travel & medical insurance, return airport transfer, personal travel and weekend activities expenses etc.
